Overview:

Trout Canyon Road starts as a wide, well-maintained gravel road and gradually gets rougher, with wash crossings and a couple of hills that call for 4WD/4-low. It’s a good connector route into the Spring Mountains NRA and passes through plenty of Joshua tree desert on the way.

What to Know Before You Go:

– The washes reroute themselves after heavy rain, the trail can look different than the last time you ran it, especially since flooding in past years reshaped some sections.

– A few rocky, uneven stretches near the end need real ground clearance and careful approach/departure angles.

– Private residences sit at the upper end of the canyon, respect the “Private Property” signage.

– Nevada OHV tag required.
